UID’s course on Animation & Motion Graphics helps develop the creative talent of students, gives them technical skills and teaches them how to work as a creative professional. The course equips students with high-level conceptual, practical and technical skills to develop a career within the field of animation and motion graphics.

Students are given opportunities to work on projects based on real world scenarios that encourage them to develop innovative and creative approaches across a range of genre, techniques and applications.

The course encourages students in the production of creatively driven work of professional standards and think in original, innovative ways. It supports them in developing intellectual and critical approaches towards creative tasks and production processes in animation and motion graphics. As part of the course, students develop practical and conceptual skills in the production of animation and motion graphics for diverse media industries. The course offers a unique way into exploring a whole range of animation production methods and developing it into a career.

From a leisure pursuit, Animation today, has turned into a serious career option with endless possibilities and applications.

The animation industry in India is growing at a very rapid pace with many Indian companies partnering with Bollywood and even Hollywood production houses. Foreign studios have found India as one of the exciting talent hubs for animation. India has become an animation-outsourcing hub and has made its mark for its skilled artists and quality work. Additionally, leading Indian production houses are now investing in the animation market and collaborating with Indian filmmakers to create animated features that have a mass appeal.

In spite of the promising opportunities, there is a dearth of talent. The need of the hour is to create an environment for students to excel in this field and give them a platform to showcase their talent.

The B.Design in Animation at UID strikes a beautiful balance between technology and art, allowing young artists to understand the nuances of animation. The programme will not only help students create lifelike animations focusing on the technical aspects of CGI animation but will also give a glimpse on how animation studios approach the art of physically based animation.

At UID, we strive to provide students with the best facilities and introduce new pedagogies. The course is designed to meet the growing industry requirements and train the students in what matters the most. Students are given training right from the basic traditional animation to the sophisticated 3D animation. Visual effects and principles of filmmaking are also part of the curriculum.

Animators are also widely used in the video game, motion design and visualization industries.

As a creative professional in the field of animation, graduates will handle the creative, artistic and technical tools required to tell stories through synthetic images of their creation. Specialization in

UID’s course on 2D animation provides students with an understanding of the art of moving images while they master the tools needed to create their own 2D animated characters as part of film, animation or interactive projects. The faculty uses a combination of conceptual, aesthetic and technical questions and tools to help students create their own voices and present their imaginations as brilliant forms of work. The course imparts knowledge on the basic principles of animation along with lessons on how to design characters and storyboard the imaginations of students to create pieces of motion art.

The 3D animation course at UID helps animate students’ imagination and creativity by training them to master the animation techniques so that they can have great career opportunities in the emerging field of animation. The course aims at creating experts in the field of film animation, games animation, sketching and character animation. Our course is highly focused on workshops, practical training sessions, seminars and lectures from experts. The course aims at marking the beginning of fascinating careers in animation for students while providing them with necessary insights, tools and specialist software to help their creativity flow. The course is focused on offering relevant industry skills to students to produce realistic characters, connect with the viewers and evoke sympathy in the viewer.
