UID’s course on Visual Communication educates students to produce creative solutions to meet the visual communication needs of the society.It helps students to become problem solvers and develop effective visual products. Students are equipped with technical and conceptual skills to articulate and express ideas, think conceptually, conduct research and critically evaluate the process. The course involves imparting skills on typography, creating visual structures, colour design and composition and image generation. The course includes assignments that focus on problem solving for existing designs that help build the experience design skills of students.

The course challenges students to think critically and experience the transformative ability of design. The course prepares students for exciting careers in the fields of graphic design, advertising, web design, multimedia design, printing, publishing or related fields.

Visual Communication (Graphics) requires study of all visual arts that finds scope in animation, multimedia, gaming, film and advertising industry, other than the basic art forms inclusive of painting, sculpturing, drawing and sketching. The digital art and animation industry is always on the lookout for fresh talent, to create concepts and designs that are contemporary and innovative. A career in art is not limited to being a painter of canvases which get framed and sold in a gallery. Behind every piece of art in a newspaper, magazine, book, poster and leaflet there is a graphic or commercial artist – usually a team. There are graphic artists putting the magazines together, illustrators drawing the cartoons & graphics, website designers, computer-graphic artists and animators. Film, TV and stage sets, computer games, art galleries and museums, teaching art and art therapy etc. are the media that requires designers.

Specialization in

Graphic design is made up of text and images to create a communication goal. The course trains students in illustration, typography, idea development, drawing, photography, photo editing, logo creation and covers other important aspects of the subject.

The course involves intense studies in planning, designing and constructing exhibits. The course consists of hands-on research and implementing it into practice by creating exhibits. Besides theoretical studies, students get the opportunity to plan and create their own exhibits.

The focus of the course is to cover all elements of packaging design while covering a variety of packaging materials and methods. As part of the course, students are expected to learn to create innovative yet practical and commercially appropriate packaging designs.

The course focuses on developing effective environmental signages that will complement the outdoor spaces without overwhelming the architecture and surroundings.

The course on Graphical User Interface (GUI) prepares students to develop applications for web and mobile devices, equipping them to become highly skilled professionals with latest skill sets
