Liberal Arts

The coursework offered by the Unitedworld School of Liberal Arts and Mass Communication has been developed to allow for a broad education that covers all the relevant aspects of the subjects.

The curriculum has been designed in a way that students will major in one area but also have the opportunity to study a variety of other topics that are of their personal and professional interests.  This structure of offering a specialist as well as wide ranging curriculum helps students get necessary skills to build a career in any industry and thrive in a constantly evolving professional industry.  

The courses include major, core as well minor subjects for students pursuing liberal arts and mass communication.  Out of the courses offered, a student is expected to complete 14 core courses from the subjects along with eight major-specific interdisciplinary courses and eight courses from the minor subjects.


B.A. (Hons.) Liberal Arts
3+1 years Bachelor Degree Course
For a successful completion of Liberal Arts undergraduate degree, a candidate has to complete 14 core courses from the major s/he elects, 8 major-specific interdisciplinary courses and 8 courses from the minor s/he elects. The projection of courses, credits and hours are attached. This applies for the first three years. Upon completion of third year sixth semester, a liberal arts candidate is eligible to get her undergraduate degree. However the department offers a fourth year Advanced Diploma year that requires the candidate to write a thesis, take up an internship and opt for a semester abroad.

For a successful completion of the Mass Communication undergraduate degree, a candidate has to complete 14 core courses from the major s/he elects, 8 major-specific interdisciplinary courses and 8 courses from the minor s/he elects.

The student has to select any one of the Major offered and the other two subjects become the Minor in the course.

The first year is the foundation year in which the student will be learning History, Psychology and Philosophy along with various Mass Communication subjects.
