Pause, Think and Behave

July 2, 2020

At a time, when the whole world is competing and is divided between the developing and developed economies, rich and poor, powerful and powerless, a miniscule virus called “Coronavirus” seems to have united the globe. It has shown that no matter how developed one may be, one can still be susceptible to an invisible threat. One can infer that we are still lagging and a lot of development needs to be done to save humans from unwanted biological threats.

This disease is an eye-opener for all the superpowers who are economically on the top, yet unable to safeguard lives of millions of citizens. So many countries which are way ahead in terms of medical facilities are still struggling and are unable to find measures to save their citizens. The proverb “Prevention is better than cure” seems to be the need of the hour.

The pandemic has made us to rethink as to what we are going to offer our future generations – a healthy life with sound nature or a life full of unpredictable threats. It has forced us to think how ill-equipped we are to tackle these threats, what should be the response time, basic measures, behavior during contingency and social responsibility as an individual.

Like how every coin has two sides, the lockdown due to the pandemic has also offered us great things, which we couldn’t have imagined on our busy days, that is, staying and spending time with our loved ones pursuing our forgotten hobbies and developing new skills.
