Students of UWSB, who are a part of United Business Club, had successfully organized “Blood Donation Drive” on 18th January 2019 in association with Indian Red Cross Blood Bank. The event was indeed a great success as it crossed 150 units of blood in total collection. India today faces a shortage of 10% relative to its blood requirements. In absolute terms, this means we require to cover a shortfall of over 12 lakh units. Given that the eligible donor population of India is more than 512 million, this deficit is surprising. This event was a small fight against blood shortage faced by thousands of people across the country. We would like to thank all the participants who took initiative and showed interest in donating blood.
