A village in China has installed over a 1000 street lights along one single road of 3 kms.
According to local reports, the villagers in Taojia village have put up the street lights only to “rip off” the government. Taojia village is part of the Xi’an International Trade & Logistics Park, an area which is all set to be bulldozed over. Knowing this, opportunistic villagers installed extra street lights to increase the amount of compensation they will receive from the Chinese government!
Photos of this well-lit road has gone viral on many social media websites. Typically, street lights are placed 30 to 50 metres apart. But this village has one 500 metre segment that alone is bordered by 200 street lights!
