Every hour ticked in a minute
An eternal sea of words and wear
The chalk fights his samurai duel
The pencil and its retinue of shavings
Lay beat by the land of frenzied scribbles.
The little dwarf packed my eyebags
With a tough trinket too many
The gears of my mind wrought to rust
Ay, the Messiah bell ought to harp.
Sweet wafts of orange marmalade
Blessed by the Autumn herself
Swim the quell waters of Hypnos
Rest by the docks of a wistful nostril.
My head swings like a hammer
Striking no nail, living the blur
A heavy bag of fresh fertilizer
Strapped to a monotonous mule
Spills upon wrinkled white rice fields
Irrigated plot by plot in due time.
The red Jays sing a lullaby
Turning the coats of my eyes
To tanned leather hides.
A pinprick on my crinkled skin
Would jostle the nerves to paddle
The whale would leap out of the blue
Only to descend in a fleeting moment.
The desk felt soft as a cloud on earth
It would assuage my furnace eyes
The filament of burning bulb fuses
Up come the twinkling stars
The moon’s little cherubs tuck me in
As I drown into this sea of slumber.
Dark as a cave in the night
I swim in the ponds of luxury
Crack! The stalagmite departs
Square on my bonce the missile bursts.
The calcite whiff and shuffles
In the ambience of murmurs
At the blur of a glaring mistress
Yammering away with the classroom blues.
