The bat MS Dhoni used in the 2011 World Cup entered the Guinness World Records and the Limca Book of Records after it was auctioned for USD 161,295 (or 83 lakh) on July 18,2011 – making it the most expensive bat in the history of the game. It was bought by RK Global Shares and Securities Ltd and the proceeds went to Dhoni’s wife’s charitable organisation – Sakshi Foundation – that works for under-privileged children in India.
