The Prime Minister Modi has recently launched a platform called Transparent Taxation. The aim behind launching the Platform was aimed at easing tax compliance and expediting refunds so as to benefit honest tax payers. As per the Ministry of Finance, the launch of the platform will be one step ahead of direct tax reforms. This is one of the several measures that have been taken by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) to aid taxpayers in the Country. The CBDT has carried out several major tax reforms in direct taxes in the recent past, including reduction in corporate tax last year to 22% from 30% for existing companies and 15% for new manufacturing units in the country.
