One of the burning issues faced by India today is educated unemployment. Students with higher levels of education, both technical and non-technical, find it difficult to get employment opportunities. At the same time companies are not getting the right kind of manpower even after multiple attempts in terms of giving advertisement and recruitment process. The question that needs to be addressed is what is the real issue? It is the unemployment of lack of skills. On one side there are people looking for jobs and on the other side there are employers looking for people to work for them. The real reason for educated unemployment is the gap between the kind of skills required by the corporate world and the kind of skills available in the market. Corporate world is changing day by day but the education system is not changing at the same pace. It is therefore very important for educational institutes to provide education and skills as required by the corporate world. It is also important for students to focus more on skill development rather than focusing only on marks and degree. Skill development is the only solution to the problem of educated unemployment.
