GOAL series: Drafting of Memorial

UWSL, Karnavati University in collaboration with Karnavati University Alumni Association (KUAA) organized the ‘Global Alumni Lecture Series’ (GOALs) on the topic “Drafting of Memorial”, on March 24, 2022, with our esteemed alumnus Adv. Henil Shah.
Henil is the pioneer batch (2014-19) alumnus of UWSL. Currently, he is working as an independent advocate with Senior Advocate Mr Mehul Shah. In 2021 he went to London to pursue an LLM specializing in International Commercial Arbitration from Queen Mary University of London. He graduated in January 2022.

The session started off with the welcome address by Dr Ayaz Ahmed where he appreciated the efforts of Dr Sharuti Choudhary, Prof. Nishtha Agrawal and Mr Rahul Upadhyay and emphasized the importance of such sessions for the young law aspirants.
Following this, Mr Henil Shah started his interactive session on the topic “Drafting of Memorial”. He guided the students through the process of drafting and elucidated the contents of the memorial.

He also emphasized using Latin terms and legal language while drafting a memorial to look more professional and intellectual.
He further pointed out that prayer is the most crucial part of a memorial and how drafts get rejected solely on the basis of prayer. Lastly, making a proper memorial with all the citations and adherence to the rule book is important for any mooter.
Dr Shruti Chaudhary, Asst. Director, Alumni Association thanked Adv. Henil Shah for conducting such an engaging session.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Nishtha Agrawal, Assistant Professor (Convener – Alumni Relations), UWSL.
We thank Adv. Henil Shah for sparing his time and conducting such an interactive session. We look forward to many more such sessions from our alumni.
