Legal awareness programme in Kanya Vidalaya, Uvarsad
On the laughter and fun filled Children’s Day, the Legal Aid Center (LAC) of Unitedworld School of Law, Karnavati University and Pro-Bono Club, Ministry of law and Justice has organized a Legal awareness program in Kanya Vidalaya, Uvarsad, Gandhinagar. The program spanned across three main activities which included a skit, an interactive discourse followed by a drawing competition.
The skit was performed by the LAC members and aimed to enlighten the students with a basic understanding of the concept of ‘Good Touch and Bad.’ Post the skit, Students of Legal Aid Center educate them on what they should do and whom they should approach in case they are subjected to any unseemly action or circumstance. Participants were also made aware about the government helpline number for children in distress. The LAC team talked about the POCSO Act as well. Furthermore, in conformity to the theme, a drawing competition was organized in which almost 250 students participated from 3rd – 8th standard. Following this, acknowledging the intense theme of the subject, the LAC team lightened the atmosphere by playing music and dancing with the students. The event was concluded with an awarding ceremony where the top 3 winners were given prizes for their drawings.
