Planning to Pursue B.B.A. in Entrepreneurship and Innovation? Check this List of Must-Read Books

Reading is still the main way that I both learn new things and test my understanding. — Bill Gates, Microsoft founder Reading is one habit that many highly successful people share. Be it Bill Gates, Elon Musk or Warren Buffett, they are all voracious readers. For students who wish to become successful entrepreneurs or make a career in the corporate field, books are a gateway to real-world knowledge.  Through books they learn how successful entrepreneurs did differently. If you are planning to pursue B.B.A. in entrepreneurship and innovation, here are must-read books:

  1. The Lean Startup by Eric Ries: A great book for those who wish to become entrepreneurs. The book emphasises that one should take a real-world approach when it comes to launching a business. To start a business, one must validate the idea and then find a profitable business model. In this, you will come across the word semi-scientific approach many times. The approach says instead of making assumptions about how a market will react to a product, entrepreneurs must build a prototype, and actually test it. As per the market reaction, develop the growth plan.
  2. Start With Why by Simon Sinek: Do you ever wonder why some businesses that start from garages go on to become iconic? What do they do differently from others? The book says it’s neither the funding nor the luck. Rather how the messaging is done. The author cites the example of Apple and how Steve Job changed the narrative of the brand. He says for any brand to be successful they must understand why they exist, what’s their purpose, what’s their core mission, and place this at the centre of everything they do.
  3. The Effective Executive by Peter Drucker: The book offers many valuable insights for those who wish to become entrepreneurs. The book is a practical guide on making decisions. It emphasises on the importance of getting the things that matter done.
  4. How to Change: The Science of Getting From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be by Katy Milkman: This book is particularly the best for young entrepreneurs. When young students become entrepreneurs, it’s a big change. They may not like the work others are doing for them. The book dwells on dealing with such barriers and many others such as impulsivity, procrastination, and forgetfulness.
