Workshop on The Tile Forge

The Department of Interior Design conducted a workshop titled ‘ The Tile Forge’ for the students of B.Des Semester 1, it is co-conducted by Aditi Anerao- a designer at Bharat Flooring. The process of cement tile casting represents a conventional method employed within various industries for the fabrication of ornamental and utilitarian tiles. This procedure entails the infusion of a blend comprising cement, sand, and supplementary additives and pigments into pre-established molds, where it subsequently undergoes a curing period, culminating in the production of tiles characterized by intricate design patterns. The result is a beautiful array of handcrafted artisanal tiles, incorporating relief work.
