I am elated to share that since inception, i.e. 2019, the research and development profile of our university has taken leaps and bounds to have already crossed over 200 Ph.D. registrations including 07 awardees and more than 600 publications in a short span of four years. This response is overwhelming and binds us to continue 360-degree support to all our research scholars without compromising the standard of research yield. For this achievement, all the stakeholders are acknowledged for their contributions to have strengthened the research output and stature of Karnavati University. Our commitment shall continue to encourage and promote cutting edge, innovative and socially relevant research laced with tech-driven tools for data analysis. Further, we also aim to focus study and analysis of primary data pertaining to diverse sectors of the society that can open ways to address solutions for the complexities of the contemporary era.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility for the Ph.D. programme includes:

A master’s degree following a 4-year bachelor’s (1 year/2 semesters) or after a 3-year bachelor’s (2 years/4 semesters), or equivalent qualifications recognized by the relevant statutory body, with at least 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grading. Foreign qualifications must be from institutions accredited by recognized authorities.
A 5% mark relaxation applies to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently-Abled/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates, as per Commission guidelines.
Applicants with a 4-year bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 75% aggregate marks, with the same relaxation for reserved categories.
M.Phil. graduates with at least 55% marks or equivalent grading, including those from accredited foreign institutions, are eligible. The same 5% relaxation applies to reserved categories.

*Notes on Duration

Minimum duration of Ph.D. programme: 3 years (including coursework).
Maximum duration without extension: 6 years from admission.
Possible extension: Up to 2 additional years via re-registration, capped at 8 years total.
Special provisions: Female scholars and Persons with Disabilities (over 40% disability) may extend up to 10 years.
Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave: Up to 240 days available for female Ph.D. scholars.

Admission Process

Research scholars interested in applying for the Doctoral Programme (Ph.D.) at Karnavati University should adhere to the following process:

Candidates must fill out the prescribed admission form and submit it by the deadline specified in the admission announcement.
A common Entrance Test will be held for all eligible candidates seeking Ph.D. admission at Karnavati University, whether applying for full-time or part-time study.
Candidates are required to participate in Personal Interviews (PI)/Viva Voce, which will be conducted online. The specific dates for these interviews will be announced later.
Admissions will be in accordance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations.
