Meaning and values that a designer can create in the society and environment- which distinguishes designers. Pranav Gajjar – an entrepreneur and designer – shared with students his journey which encompassed themes of value, aesthetics, and the moral responsibility designers have with respect to mass production and over-consumption.
He shared some of his successful projects – Hand papermaking cooperative and Ceramic Façade design where he collaborated with people from different walks of life- in remote villages to differently-abled children. The unseen strength of people -an innate ingenuity was fully brought out through his collaborative design process. From his projects, he communicated how design adds meaning and value to the society and environment. Portraying the “story” in the portfolio is crucial to become prominent. It’s not only the designs we create but also how the design brings meaning.
