Poha, Biryani and Politics

February 11, 2020

Tuesday marked an important day in Indian politics with the result of the Delhi elections. My feeds/timelines were all flooded with what people plan to have for dinner tonight – Biryani!

Needless to say, the pun is intended. The hotly contested Delhi elections, along with recent political comments on national issues, have been full of food references. For instance, the Khichdi coalition, the Chai pe Charcha, the Pakoda politics, the strange Poha eating habits, teeth-breaking roshogullas, and not to forget the super controversial beef!

Aren’t we Indians divided by politics, united by food? Well, what are you cooking for dinner tonight?
