Change the Dressing

October 15, 2020

I believe that the new education policy should not only support the Indian way of education but also the dressing, mannerisms and etiquettes that are purely Indian and inculcate the concept of Vasundhara Kutumbakam. Most of the schools prefer tie, formal trousers, blazers that are not suitable to the people of India because India’s tropical climate is very humid and hot. Free and loose clothes made of skin friendly fabric should be used as school uniform. Moreover, it should be compulsory for the schools to have Khadi fabric that represent Gandhian philosophy of ‘Swadeshi’ and our honourable Prime Minister’s philosophy of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Khadi cloth is a hand-woven cloth manufactured by the artisan villagers. Still more than 60 percent of India’s population lives in villages. The money will reach to marginal and poor artisans and villagers and the Khadi Industry will revive. We cannot have a better reason to revive the rural sector and this can be just a beginning. People in villages still preferred cotton/khadi of white colour because it absorbs less heat.
