According to the Union Health Ministry, the total number of confirmed cases is 68 and it is likely to go up in coming days. However, so far there is no coronavirus related death in our country but the government is taking every possible measure to contain the spread. Not only the government has suspended the visas for the times being but also made it mandatory for all incoming passengers from abroad to remain in quarantine/isolation wards for 14 days from the time of their arrival. Coronavirus – a potential global health pandemic (according to the World Health Organization) which was first reported from Hubei province in China – so far has claimed 4,373 lives across all across the world. According to WHO, as on March 11, 2020 there were 1, 21,564 confirmed coronavirus cases (including 4,373 deaths). Of which 66,239 people have already recovered from the virus and rest are getting treated by strictly putting under observation either in isolation wards or in quarantine.

However, teams of virologists and experts are working to develop effective cure for the virus. While in the meantime, precautions like washing hands with soap, not touching eyes or mouth, avoid going in crowded places and self quarantine/isolation are some of the best advises to stay safe.
