Drug Smuggling as Social Evil

April 10, 2020

Drug trafficking, and associated violence are major challenge today’s society. The police find the limited resources and capabilities of their departments to reduce the violence, halt the spread of drug use, and control drug related crime. The reason is obvious. Society does not take appropriate measure to sensitise the people against its effect on the humans as well as society. Criminal justice system solely cannot control this menace until and unless the awareness program should be launched and supported by society and its civil organisations. Our education system, medical care systems and other institution have to participate actively to sensitise the people against the bad effect of drug trafficking on the society. It is organised and lucrative in terms of money. Moreover, government should appoint special squad of police to arrest such people who involve in drug trafficking and a proper rehabilitation policy should be framed and applied on such arrested people so that they could not enter again in this crime. And society should help them to earn their livelihood through a legal occupation.
