Adventure Sports – Bane or Boon

June 21, 2022

Adventurists across the world think that adventure sports are a must in the country as they increase tourism and subsequent employment-related activities. Whether it’s the romantic landscape of Switzerland or the jungles of South Africa, each place has been able to increase its attraction with the introduction of adventure sports. Other than the benefits of these sports on a country’s economy, people have the right to choose what they want to do, and no one should stop them from it. All sports are dangerous in their own way; even in a simple sport of basketball, one can get a fracture. If people start fearing sports due to their risks, they will never be able to enjoy them.

But for some people, safety is their first concern as many of these activities carry a risk of life with them. Of course, skydiving or bungee jumping is real fun, but many times it can cause a loss of life, and the big companies can never compensate for it with any amount of money. As increasing interest in such activities promotes life-threatening situations, there is a feeling that such sports should be banned by the governments of all countries.

I feel that banning all such activities is not a way out as it would lead to losing tourism from the country and would give people a fearing personality which will make them reluctant to take any risk, thus reducing places where they can enjoy or even grow. So, in my opinion, instead of banning sports, the government should force all adventure sports companies to increase their safety measures and have a punishment for any life lost.
