Ph.D. in Design

Karnavati University, one of the nation’s higher design and technology institutions, was founded to provide resources for advanced study, research, and training in various design and technological subjects. It is located on a large plot of land in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

The design school has excellent opportunities to interact with leading R&D centres and critical industrial facilities close by, making it possible to work together on research projects.

The Institute offers Ph.D. programs with strong research foundations and extensive infrastructure in various engineering, scientific, and humanities & social science subjects. The main objectives of the Ph.D. program are to train future scholars and help advance the frontiers of knowledge. The Institute supports multidisciplinary research through a shared supervision system and interdepartmental group projects. The Institute welcomes funded R&D initiatives from companies and other public and private sector organizations.

The Design Department is well-equipped with laboratories and workshop facilities. Many central facilities are available, including the Central Workshop, Central Library and its own craft centre, all of which contain back issues of periodicals, standard specifications, and other design tools and technologies. It welcomes numerous design experts to guide the journey of innovation and creativity.

The Design institute also welcomes scholars who wish to peruse collaborative inter disciplinary research of design and other departments like management, technology, humanities and social sciences

Eligibility Required:

Master’s degree in relevant areas to Design with minimum CGPA of 6 on the scale of 10.
Written exams and interviews will be used as the final selection methods for all Ph.D. programs at UID, Karnavati University, depending on what each department, centre, school, and interdisciplinary group requires.
