Dr Debjani Mukherjee is an animation filmmaker, artist, children’s book author, researcher, and educator equipped with extensive experience as a practitioner, mentor and academician in India and abroad. She is presently the Coordinator of Design Thinking at Pathways World School, an IB boarding school in India where she designs the curriculum for Design Thinking in the Primary, Middle, and DP Programs and integrates it within their classrooms. She has leadership skills as an entrepreneur. She is the co-founder of ‘BOL-The Language of Children’, an NGO based in India, contributing towards community filmmaking and engaging community youth to share their own stories through the powerful medium of art. Her research interests include animated documentaries, collaborative filmmaking, and indigenous art pedagogy. She has been nominated in various national and international Film Festival, like, Auroville International Film Festival (2022), South Asian Feminist Film Festival (2020), IFFI GOA (2010), and many more. She has won awards and scholarships, like, the Covid Relief Fund, Society of Animation Studies (2020), EMRU TOWNSEND Awards Society of Animation Studies (2019), FOKUS-IAWRT Scholarship 2017 (2018), and 1st Jai Chandiram Memorial Fellowship (2016). She is currently working on an animated documentary using ‘collaborative practices’ as her methodology
