| Dr. Promil Pande is a designer, researcher and academic who’s work for over three decades lies at the intersection of artisanal practices, design thinking and society. As a researcher and designer she has worked closely on developmental projects with the Ministry of Textiles, UNDP and Fabindia both in the field of textiles and handicrafts. As an academic she has held positions of Dean, Professor and visiting Professor at Indian and International Universities. She has a PhD in Design from Sushant School of Art and Architecture, a dual Masters in Fine Arts and Textile Design Technology from Moscow Textile University along with an Executive MBA from the Scuola di Direzione Aziendale (SDA) Bocconi University. She is currently member Scientific Board for Review- FrancoAngeli Journals & Series: Design International, and Founder & Executive Director The Sidhast Foundation (TSF), a non-government organisation that works for enhancement of knowledge by promoting research, skill enhancement and sustainability. She has numerous publications to her credit which include book chapters, papers for journals and conferences, and books. The most recent book is on “Floor Coverings from Kashmir- Kaleen, carpets…”. |
