Prof. (Dr.) Santosh Kumar

Prof. Santosh Kumar, the Dean of the Unitedworld School of Liberal Art and Mass Communication, is Professor of Public Policy and Administration. He was awarded a Doctorate in Politics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi and University of Glasgow, UK. An awardee of UGC JRF and SRF, he visited IREES, Department of Politics, University of Glasgow on a short-term Commonwealth Fellowship to complete his doctoral thesis.

Prior to joining Karnavati University, he has taught at SLA&HS, Auro University, Surat; FLAME University, PUNE; School of Liberal Studies-PDPU, Gandhinagar, the School of Rural Development, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and Mumbai Campus, and Post Graduate Programme of Development Sector at E D I, Ahmedabad, with total teaching experience spanning to 24 years.

Prof. Kumar specializes in Public Policy, Public Administration and Development Politics and has wide-ranging experience in teaching, training, monitoring and evaluations from the grass roots to policy advocacy.

He was on intermittent employment with the World Bank during 2004-07. In this capacity, he has been part of the team in implementing various Community Driven Development (CDD) Projects in association with the various state governments of India (Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, etc.), and Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh in South Asia. He has provided his consultancy services for Monitoring and Evaluation of the various Community Driven Development assignments to the multilateral and international organizations such as UNDP, UNICEF, Asian Development Bank (ADB), etc.

Dr. Kumar has been associated with several national and multilateral international development organizations in various capacities, especially in South Asian countries, such as UNDP, UNICEF, ADB, etc. He has contributions in about four books, several referred papers published in reputed journals, and several research and field action project reports to his credit. He is also on the research advisory board of a number of academic institutions and professional bodies.
