Profile
Dr. Vibha Kalaiya is a textile designer, PhD supervisor and design educator. She is associated with Ministry of Textiles as empanelled designer for Handicrafts sector (Western Region). Dr. Vibha was also associated with National Institute of Design (NID, Ahmedabad) for two years as faculty trainee and Teaching associate in the department of Textile Design and Apparel Design in addition to holding the position of a Junior Research fellow at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Her area of research interests are traditional crafts, value addition, product diversification, traditional textiles, costumes, natural dyes and printing. With almost ten years of research experience, she has isseminated the knowledge through presenting her research at ITCC (Kasetsart University, Bangkok), FTC (IIT, Delhi), Vibrant Gujarat National Education Summit and many other state, national and international conferences. She has worked with several NGOs for the revival of traditional crafts and has co-designed textile collections.
