| Tanishvi Thakur is an assistant professor in the Fashion Design Department at UID. Her journey commenced amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Himachal Pradesh, where she cultivated a profound admiration for her cultural heritage and traditions. A graduate adorned with a degree in Fashion Design from NIFT Kangra and a master’s laureate from the prestigious NIFT Mumbai in Fashion Management, Tanishvi’s academic prowess is further embellished by her UGC NET qualification.
Her soul dances to the melodious rhythm of native handicrafts and handloom arts, as she elegantly joins hands with artisans from her homeland. This symbiotic collaboration culminated in the birth of “himbhoosha,” a remarkable startup resonating with the spirit of empowerment for the artisans of her state. With a brush dipped in tradition and innovation, Tanishvi paints a vivid picture of rejuvenated heritage.
Venturing forth to new horizons, Tanishvi now finds herself to be a part of the vibrant tapestry of KU, driven by a vision to transcend the boundaries of Himachali handicrafts. Her aspiration is to delve into the captivating realm of exquisite handicrafts spanning the nation, commencing her exploration from the textile hub of India, Gujarat. |
