Dear Students:

Let me share with you a sincere concern through various reports released by national and international organizations highlighting employability issues among educated unemployed. The issue of employability arises mainly due to our current education system which focuses more on theoretical knowledge. Students as well have a mindset to learn with exam oriented base only. Situation like these results into graduates with confined theoretical knowledge. Such examination oriented and degree focused studies are the main factors for lack of employability skills among the students.

School of Business, since inception is working on imparting right blend of
theoretical and practical knowledge among students and enabling them to face
the challenges of emerging market economies. In order to abreast the students
with practical knowledge various initiatives like guest lectures, industrial
visits, live projects and internships are planned as part of regular curriculum.
Career Service Department (CSD) is actively working on arranging such
activities. Simultaneously, the faculty members are also giving their best
efforts to make you ready for such opportunities. The objective of practical
knowledge is to understand the application of theoretical knowledge in real
life situations. As such, it is very essential that you have sound theoretical
knowledge across various subjects’ covered in classroom environment and beyond.
Your only focus on theories or practical aspects will limit the purpose of
acquiring adequate knowledge. For instance: to become a professional swimmer,
you are required to know swimming techniques along with practice of swimming. You
cannot become good swimmer with only theoretical aspects of swimming or without
immersing self in the swimming pool. Inversely, it is hard to be a professional
swimmer without having knowledge of tools and techniques of swimming, i.e.
theories of swimming. So in this direction, it is very important to have
balanced approach, regulated time management and over all open mindset to learn
new things along with applying theoretical knowledge to practice.
