Two-day State-level Workshop for Para-Legal Volunteers for strengthening Child Protection Systems and Services in Gujarat
Unitedworld School of Law (UWSL), Karnavati University in partnership with UNICEF, Gujarat and Gujarat State Legal Services Authority (GSLSA) is organising TWO-DAYS STATE-LEVEL WORKSHOP WITH PARA-LEGAL VOLUNTEERS FOR STRENGTHENING CHILD PROTECTION SYSTEMS AND SERVICES IN GUJARAT scheduled to be conducted on 25th and 26th May, 2019 at UWSL.
Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs) are volunteers for spreading awareness about legal rights, working as bridge between the beneficiaries and the Legal services authorities. The workshop is organised with an objective to strengthen the skills of the paralegal volunteers in counselling the children and parents for any child right related matters. It will also enhance the understandings of the PLVs regarding child right related laws, nature of offences against children including cyber offences, child friendly reporting mechanisms, stages of court procedures, adoption and succession related procedures etc. The two-day State-level workshop shall observe different sessions on socio-legal issues related to child to be taken by experts in the area including academicians, eminent lawyers, social activists, govt. officials etc.
Paralegal volunteers in the category of Law students, Social right activists, pro bono volunteers, Teachers, Paramedic /medical professionals/students, Transgender community representatives may register for the workshop.
