UID Admission Eligibility Criteria

For B. Design:

Admission into an undergraduate program at UID requires successful completion of minimum 10+2 pass/appearing (Any Stream), with a minimum 50% aggregate score from any recognized higher secondary school board.
Clearance of Two-Tier Evaluation Process.

For M. Design:

Admission into a postgraduate program at UID requires successful completion of 10+2+3/4 pass/appearing (Bachelor’s degree of any discipline) with a minimum 50% aggregate score from any recognized institution or university.

UID Admission Process under the General Category Window-

The evaluation criterion of UID’s admission process for UG and PG level Programmes is of two tiers –

Tier 1: Design Aptitude Test (UID-DAT)
Tier 2: PART A: Portfolio Evaluation (PE) and PART B: Personal Interview (PI)

UID Admission Process under the NRI/NRI Sponsored/ Management Window-

The evaluation under the NRI/NRI Sponsored/ Management Window is based on evaluation of Digital Portfolio submitted as per the guidelines provided on application.

Important Notes-

NRI applicants or applicants who have completed their last qualifying exam from any foreign board or university will have to provide equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).


Under both the application windows students will be asked to submit documents as per the list provided at the time or before the induction program. The list of documents and the date of submission will be informed at the time of admission process, after the seat securing process is completed.

The institute reserves the right to cancel the admission at any stage/time in case a candidate does not fulfil the requisite conditions or fails to submit the required documents or if any of the documents submitted by the candidate is found false/forged/misleading.
