School of Fashion Design
The Fashion Design programmes at UID enables budding design aspirants to explore and discover their individualistic aesthetic philosophy. The courses help the students to build on their technical skills; critical thinking and design application. The students are able to create, evaluate, analyse and apply their skills to all areas of chosen research, be it sustainable fashion, craft clusters, denim, lingerie and intimate wear, couture and corsetry, among many others.

of design in various fields, working with various materials and engaging in
creating garments in all categories of pret, couture and avant garde.
- The students are able to plan, manage, source, select
and use materials and fabrics according to the current trends and use data and
technology to keep up with the newest advancements in the field.
- There are also numerous masterclass/workshops held on
campus by eminent designers, using cutting edge technology and technical
knowhow to be abreast with the current industry trends.
- Our internships and placements are done with top
designers and corporations of the garment manufacturing industry. Access to our
extensive infrastructure, multidisciplinary workshops in the campus and
international collaborations with various international universities with
respect to summer schools, summer internships and projects keep the students up
to date with fashion forecasts and the world trends.
- The course is periodically planned such as to ensure a
balance of theoretical inputs and skill based learning. It also incorporates
an intensive co-existence & practice of technical and empathetic
creative-exploratory approach to understand the role of ‘fashion’ while
offering a hands-on, industry-engaged curriculum to enhance the
learning process.
