Career Prospects

  • Given the diverse nature of Visual Communication at UID, a graduate of the program has a wide range of choices to pursue a career depending on their preference, aptitude and skillset. Many of our students find work in the UX/UI sector, many opt to work in classical graphic design studios, some choose to work in multidisciplinary design firms, some in advertising agencies, some in motion design studios among others. Few of our students with a strong aptitude of research are working in firms specialising in design research while some have ventured into film making. Many of our graduates also choose to freelance and we also have a few who have started their own studios. About 15-20% of our graduates choose to pursue higher education abroad in diverse streams like Design Management, HCI, Interaction Design, Illustration, Animation, Brand Management etc. The program is also beginning to have its graduates get into the field of design education and academics.
