B.Design (Hons.) Animation and Motion Graphics

The Animation and Motion Graphics Department at UID aims at providing top notch Industry standard training in the various facets of animation. Starting from traditional 2D classical animation to the new-age VR animation, every aspect of the subject is covered. The course prepares the student to master one’s skills and understanding so that they can choose any career in the production pipeline, be it in the pre-production, production or post-production level. Independent film-making and commercial film-making both are an integral part of the training.

School of Communication Design
UID’s course on Visual Communication empowers the student to produce creative solutions to meet visual design needs of society. It helps students to become problem solvers and develop effective information & communication. Students are equipped with technical and conceptual skills to articulate and express ideas, think conceptually, conduct research and critically evaluate the process. The course involves imparting Knowledge in Critical Thinking, Design Process and Visual narratives to create defined solutions in the ambit of both Digital and Print mediums.

The B.Des in animation is a course that gives students knowledge in techniques of animation through design thinking and experiential learning. This four-year programme enables students to think out of the box, express their ideas, and evaluate the process critically.
A career in animation is one of the most sought-after and lucrative careers in recent times. The attractive salary packages, and the opportunities it offers make this exciting career the right choice for the students.
There are different types of animation, four of them are 2D animation, 3D animation, motion graphics, and stop motion animation. Animation enables students to think out of the box and tell stories in unique ways.
The B.Des animation course at UID is four years. The full-time course comprises eight semesters with core subjects like drawing, design & cultural studies, acting for animation, illustration, character design & style treatment, research methodology, and animation production & entrepreneurship.
The salary of an animator in India varies from company to company. It depends on the city, hands-on experience, and performance of the candidates. It is an excellent career option with lucrative opportunities in top-ranked companies.
Although they use the same software programmes like After Effects and Photoshop, there is a subtle difference in their roles. Animators generally work on illustrations like the storyboard and characters while motion graphic designers work on the setting.
There are different types of motion graphics. Some of them are product marketing, explainer video, logos, icons, UI animations, short films, titles (TV and movies), presentations, gifs, broadcasting graphics, and infographics.
