Why study Interior & Furniture Design at UID?
- Capitalising on the rich design and architectural heritage of Ahmedabad, the Interior & Furniture Design programme at UID gains directly from the city’s manifold and prolific estate.
- The distinctive and progressive profile of our curricula encourages students to expand their horizons and discontinue the preconceived beliefs of spatial design by advocating liberal and divergent thinking processes.
- The curricula focus particularly on building students’ knowledge, abilities, and comprehension of interior & furniture design in conformity with global benchmarks.
- In an era where the future is evolving rapidly, we inculcate in the students to adapt and contribute to the needs of the capital’s creative economy. The enterprise of the faculty is to expedite trans-disciplinary attitudes and develop experiences that move beyond the context of space and lead to the design of human behaviour.
- A strong emphasis on bringing forth a spectrum of cosmopolitan opportunities in a mentored environment that enriches with atypical discourse & networked exchanges to facilitate user-centric design innovations.
- The Institute has state-of-the-art workshops of wood and metal that employ the latest equipment with complete guidelines and protocols to assist the students with real-life prototyping.
- Each student has the scope to get mentored by competent and diverse academicians as well as industry veterans as they embark on their careers in the field of interior & furniture design.
- The Institute regulates and counsels the internships & placements of students, emphasizing gaining valuable experience with prominent designers and leading organisations in the domain of interior & furniture design.
- The students remain conversant with design forecasts and global trends owing to international alliances with multiple international universities for summer programs, summer apprenticeships, and ventures.
