Dr. Sanket Pai

Dr. Sanket Pai is a design researcher and an industrial designer passionate about design education and creative innovation. He holds a joint PhD degree from IIT Bombay, India and Monash University, Australia. His academic journey includes an MDes in Industrial Design from IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay and a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Goa University. He possesses extensive professional experience designing products for farming, special-purpose packaging machines, and educational games. He also has a background in teaching product design and mechanical engineering. Sanket offers a unique blend of academic expertise and industry insights due to his prior experiences of working for Bosch Ltd, IIT Bombay, TCS iON GAMELab and Padre Conceição College Of Engineering. He has also worked on design consultancy projects and design thinking workshops for various industries. Sanket is committed to leveraging emergent and emerging technologies to enhance the quality of life for populations underserved by design. His teaching philosophy revolves around cultivating critical thinking, creativity, and practical problem-solving skills. He believes in co-learning and hands-on experiences, empowering students to learn through doing.
