Textile & Knit Design Workshop

200 - 250 Knitwear designing is a course that emphasises on creative techniques of knitting, yarn making, stitching, pattern making, and knitting machinery. Our M.Des Textile & Knitwear Design course at UID enables budding designers to create sportswear, lingerie, intimate wear, and couture and corsetry.
200 - 250 Textile designing involves creating fabrics, printed fabrics, yarns, fibres, dyeing, embroidery and design development. At UID, we offer an M.Des Textile & Knitwear Design course. The course prepares students to innovate, create, and experiment with fabric.
200 - 250 The difference between knitted and woven is the way they are made. Knitting involves interlacing/interloping a single thread/yarn. Woven fabrics are produced using longitudinal yarns, warps, and latitudinal yarns. Students can get to learn these techniques during their M.Des Textile & Knitwear design course at UID.
200 - 250 The types of textile design can be classified into three major categories ---- printed textile design, mixed media textile design, and woven textile design. At UID, students get to develop an in-depth understanding of these textiles and their use as part of their M.Des Textile & Knitwear design course.
200 - 250 Aspirants need to have a basic knowledge of colour, pattern, and texture to become a textile designer. They should possess creativity and artistic sensibility with good drawing skills. Adequate knowledge of various characteristics and techniques of textile materials will enhance their ability to work in teams.
