Expert Lecture Series – Xth Edition

Unitedworld School of Law, under the aegis of Karnavati University, has organised a two day Expert Lecture Series-Xth Edition on March 18-19, 2019, on the topic “Insights into the Nuances of Intellectual Property Rights Law: Analysing the Legal and Management Perspectives”.

We had the pleasure to have Prof. V. K. Ahuja, Incharge, Law Centre II, Delhi University, New-Delhi and Prof. Rajat Agarwal, IPR Chair coordinator, IIT Roorkee, Uttarakand for a scholarly development of ideas in the area of Intellectual Property Rights Law and IP Valuation & Management.

The event began with welcome note and felicitation of guests by Prof (Dr.) Saroj Bohra, HoD, UWSL followed by introduction of eminent guest by Ms. Gunjan Chawla, Faculty coordinator.

In first session, Prof. Ahuja discussed the basics of Intellectual Property Rights Law and also focused upon the recent trends in IP Law. He discussed the intricacies of the DU Photocopy case and its implications on Copyright Law in India.

In the second session, Prof. Rajat laid emphasis upon the importance of IP Valuation and how an IP owned by a person, whether natural or legal, may manage in order to fulfill the important facets of the IP Cycle: Creation, Protection and Commercialization.

The session came to an end on with question answer session between the Speakers and the students.
