Incubators and Startups at KU

Welcome to the Incubation Centre of Karnavati University, where we support aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators with the necessary resources to turn their innovative ideas / startup initiative into a successful business.

At Karnavati University, we have developed two in-house incubation centres,

2) Defence Design and Technology Incubator of India (DDTII) – defence-sector focussed incubation centre

To promote entrepreneurship and culture of start-up amongst all the students, Karnavati University has incorporated Karnavati Innovation and Incubation Foundation (KIIF).
Karnavati Innovation and Incubation Foundation (KIIF) is a design business incubator that works on an amalgamation of design, technology and business principles. Located within the campus of Karnavati University, it has been formed to help start-ups and entrepreneurs in their journey towards becoming successful businesses.

The Defence Design and Technology Incubator of India (DDTII) is a noble effort by Karnavati University to inspire and nurture innovations and Research & Development in the defence, space and allied industries and sectors.
DDTI is focused on creating a scintillating environment for technology, business and entrepreneurship for start-ups who would like to explore or venture into the Aerospace and Defence sector. The incubator supports Green-Field as well as Brown-field start-ups.

• 58 startups are incubated at KIIF.

• INR 3 crore Govt. Grants available with KIIF to assist eligible startups.

FUNDS AND SUPPORT

Student Start-up and Innovation Policy (SSIP) by the Education Department, Govt. of Gujarat aims to promote innovations and Start-ups in the traditional and new age technology along with the sunrise sectors.
• Maximum INR 2.50 Lakh per PoC/Prototype/Innovation
• IP Support up to 100% of expenses
• Exposure to Tinkering Lab, Innovation Lab, Incubation Centers
• Large scale sensitization, events and programs for developing Scientific Mindset
• Collective/Community level support system and activities
• Capacity Building

Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) provides financial assistance to startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry, and commercialisation.
• Up to Rs. 20 Lakhs as grant for validation of Proof of Concept, or prototype development, or product trials.
• Up to Rs. 50 Lakhs of investment for market entry, commercialization, or scaling up through convertible debentures or debt or debt-linked instruments

Startup India Seed Fund Scheme KIIF Karnavati University

Currently, funding to eligible startups from KIIF is available under the SISFS programme of Startup India.
