One Year LL.M. Programme

Centre of Post-Graduate Legal Studies (CPGLS) for One-Year LL.M. Program:

Unitedworld School of Law has established a Centre of Post-Graduate Legal Studies to offer One-Year LL.M. Degree Program. CPGLS has highly experienced and qualified faculty with suitable specializations to conduct Masters and PhD programs. The Center has well-equipped library with sufficient print as well as online resources with ICT enabled facilities. It has state of the art infrastructure and student support services with facilities for teleconferencing and technologically advanced equipments for teaching and research. CPGLS has constituted a Committee comprising of senior Professors and  Associate Professors which has designed the LL.M. program and its curriculum in the light of UGC guidelines.

The LL.M. program is organized around two semesters spread over an academic year. Total of 40 students are admitted to the LLM Program. This Program aims to offer an advanced and an interdisciplinary teaching, learning and research opportunity in law for post-graduate students. It is committed to provide an intellectually stimulating academic environment with highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members to deliver an excellent and world-class legal education. The postgraduate program incorporates both transnational and comparative approaches to learning and research.

ELIGIBILITY:
Three or Five Year LL.B Degree from any Indian or Foreign University recognized by the UGC with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade [45% for SC/ST Candidates]. Candidates who have appeared for the final year LL.B examination may also apply.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The one year LL.M. program is divided in two semesters. In each semester five papers are offered. First semester comprises of three foundation papers and two elective papers. The second semester comprises of four specialization papers and a dissertation.

Unitedworld School of Law, Uvarsad, Gandhinagar offers a one year LL.M programme with the following specializations:

ADMISSION PROCESS 2022

Admission will be based on merit prepared on the basis of entrance examination (CLAT/ LSAT/ KU- LAT) and personal interview.

  1. Candidates who have not appeared in CLAT or LSAT have to appear in Karnavati University – Law Aptitude Test (KU-LAT). KU-LAT would be an objective type test, comprising of 100 questions to assess the Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Research Methodology, Legal Reasoning, Legal Aptitude, Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, Public International Law, Human Rights, Corporate Law (Contract Act, Companies Act), Intellectual Property Law, Criminal Law, Family Law, Environmental Law and basic legal knowledge. Duration of the examination is two hours.
  2. Before appearing for the interview, candidates are supposed to submit Statement of purpose and Curriculum Vitae.
