When I was doing my masters, everybody who wanted to make a career in academics used to say, initial 1 or 2 years of corporate experience is necessary then jump to academics, once you enter academics, it won’t be possible to join corporate back!
In academics we teachers prepare the students for corporate, we train them, educate them to be skillful to cope up with the requirements of corporate jobs. But when it comes to academicians who want to enter corporate their whatever number of experience does not count in corporate!
We need to understand the idea of “experience”. “Experience can be understood once exposed in terms of job profile, skill and knowledge usage in day to day life. Definitely, academics is completely an industry unique in itself, in terms of the kind of work and day to day experience. But if we understand the job content it links to create students corporate ready. How come academicians are called in-experienced for corporate?
