As an Indian, it certainly was a proud moment for me to watch a ceremony in London where Prince Charles graciously declined to shake hands upon being received at the venue and took to joining his hands and posing a ‘Namaste’ to all present. This seems to be the right time to ditch all professional etiquettes and be purely desi and yet be appreciated for the being so.
The oriental and Indian ways of greetings are here to stay for long, it seems. Who knew the whole world would suddenly take in Namaste as the New Hello overnight!
