Unitedworld School of Law, Karnavati University, in association with Intellectual Property Promotion Outreach Foundation (IPPO) had organized a One-day seminar on “Fostering Intellectual Growth through IP”.
We had a pleasure to have with us Mr. Gregory L. Maurer, Partner at Klarquist, USA as our esteemed speaker for the seminar who was accompanied by Ms. Anjula Mehta, CEO, IPPO and Ms. Shaiva Shah, Advocate, IPPO. The event was attended by more than 350 students from all the other constituent colleges at Karnavati University, including Unitedworld School of Business, Unitedworld School of Liberal Arts and Mass Communication, Unitedworld Institute of Design and Unitedworld School of Law.
Mr. Gregory addressed the latest challenges that are there for different IP including Copyrights, Trademarks, Patents and Trade Secret laws. Considering that we have Artificial Intelligence and Block-chain Technologies and the proliferation of Internet at a speed that knows no bounds, the very essence of IP laws and the basic idea on which it is based seems to be put in doubt. Nonetheless, IPR shall be the next generation law and is a valuable asset for any company operating in the extensive consumer-driven market. The seminar ended with an interactive session with the students who were had inquisitive questions to ask, which the speaker mentioned were very relevant and impressive.
