UID students are taken for industrial visits on a regular basis so that they get to know about the working environment and daily operations of various relevant industries. Students get to see the practical application of how designs get converted into commercial products. Recently, an Industrial Visit was organised to Avadat Apparels (Denim Jeans Manufacturing Company) for the benefit of students of the School of Fashion Design, UID.
The students saw the Assembly line production process of denim jeans. The step by step process of design to sampling to making a marker plan on CAD and stitching of denim jeans to washing and then finishing and processing to a ready to sell Denim was explained and demonstrated to the students for a better understanding. The students will now create their own range of denim wear garments.
