Activity based Learning: There are several concepts that activity based and can be understood better while practicing. For instance, managing money and understanding its value. A task can be given to the students where they are given limited resources and money and then they are asked to manage in the best possible manner. This teacher them the famous Darwinian theory i.e. Survivor of the fittest. Similarly, the concept of ‘Sharing is Caring can be taught by similar activities.
Rewards and Recognition: Rand R is considered to be an integral part of employees’ life in an organization. It helps to motivate the employees. There is a famous adage that Justice delayed is justice denied. Similarly, recognition delayed is recognition denied. Rewarding the innovation and motivating other students to come with innovative ideas will help the country to progress and promote Science and Technology. Usually someone who scores the first rank in the class is recognised or someone who has performed exceptionally well in Sports gets recognised, however there is motivation for creativity. An average student might come up with astonishing ideas. The current education system gives the least recognition to the student’s efforts.
Brainstorming on Current Affairs topics: Group Discussion and Debate on current affairs topics should be an inseparable part of the school journey. This practice will not only improve the public speaking abilities of the students but also makes them knowledgeable. Frequent discussions will help the students to improve presentation skills, body language, content preparation and paralanguage. For instance, students can have a discussion on the Fiscal Budget, Education Policy, Online Education to name a few. These skills will help the students to win the intercollege and inter university competitions such as Mock Parliament and MUN Mock United Nations. Moreover, cracking interviews and group discussions become a cake walks for the student
Compulsory subjects: Mathematics and Science should be treated as compulsory subjects throughout schooling. A candidate has complete freedom to opt for any subject of his/her choice but Mats and Science will be compulsory subjects. Maths and Science increase the logical reasoning and data analysis capability of an individual.
Serving Nation: Compulsory one-year rigorous Army training should be compulsory for the school pass outs and then they can pursue their higher education. The army training will be state sponsored that will intend to teach the youngsters to take any challenge in life. The training will teach the survival skills to the students. It will make the students mentally and physically agile. It’s been more than 70 years of independence. The current generation should feel and realise the value of the hard-earned freedom.
Adult Education: Young school going students, especially the teenagers have lots of curiosity. In the recent times the rise of LGBTQ i.e. Lesbian Gay Bisexual, Transgenders and Queer, has made the need of adult education extremely necessary. It is important to teach the subject with utmost sincerity and ask the students to respect the individuality. Students should be made aware about the bad touch and good touch. A specialised counsellor should be hired who discusses the common and the rising cases among the students and what students do in such cases. There are a lot of organizations, especially NGOs that are active in resolving relationship issues among students and help them to counter unnecessary stress and depression.
