In these times everybody is in their nest and coming back to their soul within the body. We always pretend to be united all the time but the real meaning of a united world is taking place now. This COVID 19 virus is destructive and human lives are paying its price. Situation is grim and you can’t feel positive these days. The whole idea of negative and positive has changed now. Everything is slowing down and life is all about rethinking and is in the restart mode. This is the new normal and we have to accept it.
Today, we are passing through hard times at our home but while doing work from home, I have time to revisit my professional life again. My art practice had stopped when I began my career. It is because of Covid-19 that after a long time I have ample time to remember my student life and go back to my paintings. The subjects, which I teach are always based on daily life observation and socio-political issues, so I am getting time to absorb the happenings in my surrounding. I am also trying to restart my studio practice to explore my imagination through various digital media, e-newspaper, e-magazines, images, using different materials and express it on paper.
I
used to do water color in my paintings; this medium is very fascinating and has
capacity to surprise you whenever you deal with it. Every time it comes out
differently, that is the beauty of this medium. This medium has endless range
and possibilities to use. Everybody uses it in their own way. Same colour
behaves differently in different geographical condition, water quality and
papers. The images used here are my paintings made with water colour. Hope you enjoy them.
One
last thing: Try to be like Mimosa pudica (touch me not plant) and be safe take
care.
“Blow O wind to where my loved one is. Touch him and come touch me soon. I’ll feel his gentle touch through you and meet his beauty in the moon. These things are much for the one who loves. One can live by them alone: that he and I breathe the same air and that the Earth we tread is one.”- Ramayana. (https://www.searchquotes.com/search/Can_Look_But_Not_Touch/#ixzz6NZYMdBat)
All
images are taken from my paintings.
