In the late 90’s the internet service started in India and since then we have seen a huge growth in terms of technology usage in the country. In the span of almost 20 years the use of technology has been an integral part of individuals. In today’s scenario google is considered as the best friend of human beings. Because whatever the problem is the first search is done on google and to almost all your problems you get an answer over there.
The speed and usage of the internet technology has been increased to the greatest extent after the launch of Reliance Jio in the country. The number of smartphone users in the country is around 80 crore and out of that almost 40 crore users are of Reliance Jio, followed by Airtel and then Vodafone Idea. The infrastructure development done by Reliance Jio of optical fibre network is supporting 5G technology as well and soon Reliance is planning to launch 5G technology in the country.
Elon Musk the CEO of SpaceX, in association with starlink are launching their high-speed internet service across the globe. Starlink started testing its beta service in North America and southern Canada in 2020. Soon they would be starting their satellite-based internet services in India. The satellite-based internet service would be at a faster speed and with less price and less connectivity issues. Not only Elon Musk but even Jeff Bezos has started a company known as Blue Origin which is into similar services like starlink and both these companies could be a worry for Reliance Jio. So, Reliance needs to think of some alternative to survive in this competitive market.
