UrIdentity Induction Programme 2022
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and entering into chapters that are all anew is a challenge in itself. At Unitedworld Institute of Design, Karnavati University, the UrIdentity Induction Programme 2022 was an amalgamation of myriad of emotions as it welcomed the fresh unbridled energies into a voyage of design.
A grand welcome ceremony with amusing first conversations, students dancing to the beats of dhol, a magnanimous flower shower by the Gajraaj, interactive campus tour and a welcome kit filled with love, it is safe to say that it was like living in a dream.
We believe that it is important for the students to “break the ice” and get to know the torchbearers of the industry who shall be their guiding lights for years to come. Conversations with faculties, head of departments and the dean and directors was an integral part of the programme.
What is a welcome in an institute if it doesn’t establish the importance of experiential learning and stepping out of the comfort zone? The programme included a lineup of workshops that explored the horizons of theatre, performance art, music, dance, calligraphy, styling and space characteristics. At UID we believe that staying true to the roots is an essential part of the expedition in knowledge enlightenment. Hence, the programme involved spending time at the craft cluster where students learnt about the significant role that traditional crafts such as lippan kaam, mata ni pachedi, shibori art, zardosi, glass work from firozabad and more play in preserving the heritage of India and bringing it to a global stage.
UID is known for believing in the concept of edutainment. Each evening of the induction week was filled with an entertainment programme and included standup comedy by Preeti Das, dazzling dance show by B2D entertainment and Mantra Monks, DJ night by Aaftab and 14.20 music, soulful sufi night by Kuntal Khan and a ravishing Talent Hunt Competition where over 30 plus students unveiled their treasure trove of talents.
UrIdentity Induction Programme 2022 has been a sheer projection of mirth and merriment where learning and fun painted a whole new picture of euphoria.
