UID Induction Programme B.Des.

Unitedworld Institute of Design (UID) rolled out its Induction Programme for the B.Design Programme (Fashion Design and Lifestyle Accessory Design Depts.) with much fervour.

“On the other side of your roadblock, lies your freeway.”….freeway to SUCCESS! Truly our best moments are those when we feel profoundly awkward, despondent, or unfulfilled, and still, come out as a complete winner by facing our fears and giving our best efforts.

UID Induction Programme is one such platform which helps the new entrants to come out of their ruts and start the new chapter of their lives with ease.

All the esteemed dignitaries including the Deans, Directors and HODs present during the event spoke on various topics right from the inclusion of technology and innovation in design to readying the aspiring design students for the upcoming paradigm shift of the design industry and how UID can provide these budding creative geniuses with the right platform to bloom into a seasoned design professional.

The young cohorts were introduced to the CSD Team, Students’ Affairs Department, and the Students’ Council. ‘UrIDentity’ and learning while playing was the central idea of the introductory session.

The second day of #UrIDentity induction for Fashion Design and Lifestyle Accessory Design batch 2019 – 2023, tapped the windows of their creative minds by a screening of acclaimed BBC and National Geographic documentaries, “Objectified” and “Before the Floods” respectively. The first documentary showcased the approach to product usefulness, innovation, aesthetics, durability and sustainability, while the second one inspired a solution-oriented approach towards critical concerns of climate change. Aspiring designers, on the first day of their higher education, gave a full house and positive feedback by expressing that creativity can be found in any form. Inspiration can be drawn from mundane objects but the end product should be attractive and out of the box.

Mr. Gaurang Anand, theatre artist and creative professional engaged the foundation students of Fashion Design and Lifestyle Accessory Design batch 2019 – 2023 on the first day of 4-day Theatre workshop. Facilitator for 3rd workshop, designed for the foundation students of Fashion Design and Lifestyle Accessory Design batch 2019 – 2023 is Mr. Karan Sajnani. A musician and a lover of art, he took the students through an exciting journey of producing music from mundane objects.
