Unitedworld School of Law, Karnavati University, conducted, one of its kind in south Asia, a module course on “Proclivity of Gender: Socio-Legal Approach to LGBTQ Community” today i.e. 27th August 2018 at Unitedworld School of Law, Uvarsad, Gandhinagar. The inaugural day was graced by eminent activists from different parts of India, such as Shri Manvendra Singh Gohil, Prince of erstwhile State of Rajpipla and Founder of Lakshya Foundation; Dr. Manabi Bandopadhyay, First Transgender Principal of India, Principal, Krishnanagar Women’s College, Nadia, West Bengal; Ms. Kalki Subramaniam, Film Maker and Founder- Sahodari Foundation, Tamil Nadu; Mr. Gautam Yadav, Program Officer, Humsafar Trust; Ms. Shamini Kothari and Ms. Anahita Sarabhai, Founders- QueerAbad. The Program was also graced by Shri K.G. Vanzara, Additional Secretary of Social Justice & Empowerment Department, Govt. of Gujarat whom a report on empirical research study prepared by Prof. Shrut Brahmbhatt and Students of 2015-20 of the Institute titled “Transgender Identity: Socio-Legal Position in the District of Gandhinagar of the Institute was submitted to by Shri Manavendra Singh Gohil and all the dignitaries present in the occasion to take further actions on the suggestions and recommendations.
