Today the World Wide Web has become a vital part of life not just for individuals but for educational institutes, hospitals, governments and businesses across the world.

As computer science graduate students at Stanford University, Larry Page and Sergey Brin co-founded Google, one of the most profitable internet companies of all time. Both Page and Brin crammed a bunch of cheap computers into their dorm room and developed a data mining system. Though the data mining system became quite popular at Stanford University, the two abandoned it to start Google. Page is the inventor of PageRank, the foundation of Google’s search ranking algorithm — which contributed to much of Google’s initial success.
